Even when the material is confirmed to be safe for the environment, some companies still mislead customers by proudly proclaiming that their T-shirts are organic without specifying what kind of paint is used to create the images, or how eco-friendly their screen printing process truly is. Organic materials cost more, so some companies try to make up that expense in areas that are difficult to verify.

The paints traditionally used in screen-printing, for example, contain polyvinyl chloride. Better known as PVC, this substance is widely accepted as the most toxic plastic in existence. Simply manufacturing this type of ink releases carcinogens and other harmful chemicals into the environment, and PVC is just as toxic to wear as it is to produce. When you wear clothes printed with these environmentally unfriendly materials, you are in close proximity to volatile compounds. They are released into the air you breathe, and continue to contaminate the water system each time you do laundry.

Another danger of the traditional screen printing process comes from the method of printing. Machine printing techniques may save companies time and money, but the cost to the environment in the energy used to power this equipment is dire. The only truly environmentally friendly way to screen print T-shirts is to do so manually using 100% organic materials, water-based ink and biodegradable cleaning products.

Estimates
Estimates provided by Scrappy Apparel Company expire 10 days from the date they were created.

Imprint Placement
The imprint placement will be specified on your mockup. The location definitions are listed on our imprint guidelines. Precise location will slightly differ on each garment.

Printing Over Zippers, Pockets and Seems

Inconsistencies may occur in registration and ink coverage when printing over the zipper, pockets or any other uneven surfaces. Scrappy Apparel will not be responsible for these inconsistencies.

Imprint Dimensions
Customer specified print sizes must meet our imprint guidelines. Designs will be sized for the smallest sized garment within an order. If you require the artwork to be adjusted for different shirt sizes this must be specified at the time of your order. Otherwise, all garments will recieve the same size imprint. Ex: An order containing both youth and adult sized garments that are to receive the same imprint will be sized for the smallest youth sized garment unless customer approves runoff.

Minimums Orders
Our minimum order is 25 pieces per design for standard size imprints. Oversize will have a 50 piece minimum. Jumbo imprints will have a 75 piece minimum. Simulated Process imprints will have a minimum of 100 pieces. All over imprints will have a minimum of 144 pieces. We reserve the right to increase the minimum in the event that your design will take extra setup and production time than normal.

Order Turnaround
Most custom apparel orders are completed in 7-14 business days from customer payment. Production turnaround is greatly determined by the complexity of the project. This does not include company holidays, days in transit or custom art time. Customers who supply their own products please be aware that your orders may be subject to slower turnarounds if your garments do not arrive within 72 hours from placing the order. Orders requiring special finishing options may take more time. If you require your items by a specific date please discuss this with your Scrappy Representative at the time of your order.

Shipping
We ship all orders UPS Ground unless customer specifies otherwise. We provide free ups ground shipping on apparel orders to most retail clients. Contract customers are billed for shipping.

Rush Orders
We do accept rush orders when we are capable of producing them. Please ask a sales associate before assuming we can provide you with this service. Rush orders must be paid in full upon sales order and art approval. You may not cancel a rush order once your order is placed. Exact quantities are not available on 1 day rush orders.

Change Orders
Change orders are generally not accepted once an order is approved. Ex: A day after you place your order you decide you would like to change designs, garment colors, garment quantities or garment sizes. In the event management accepts your change order, your scheduled due date will also change and you may incur extra charges. These charges may include but are not limited to shipping, art, embroidery digitizing and general processing.

Cancellations
Cancellations of approved orders will be subject to any fees incurred in processing your order. Rush orders may not be canceled. All cancellations must be made by written request.

Returns / Refund
Defective or misprinted items may be returned for a full refund within 48 hours from receiving them. Ex: Customers garment has a stain from garment factory on it. This does not include defective or misprinted items supplied by customers. All returns and refunds must be approved by management.

Scrappy Apparel Company does not accept responsibility for apparel manufacturing issues out of our control. Ex: Redyed garments effecting discharge imprint colors, significant shrinking of the garments, sizing issues

Spoilage
Scrappy Apparel Company LLC will not be held responsible for spoilage up to 2% for orders over 144 units or 5% for orders under 144 units. Percentages are based on number of imprints rather than number of garments. “Exact Quantity” is available on standard orders for an up-charge, contact us for details. We will only bill for finished and un-defected products. Imprints on flawed items supplied by customers will be billed. Extra production time will be needed in the event we need to replace any items. Scrappy Apparel Company will not be responsible for damages such as profit loss on spoiled or defected products. We can not replace customer supplied items from vendors that we do not do have accounts with. Ex: Retail Stores. Any customer supplied items such as these are supplied at the customers own risk. We highly encourage our customers to purchase products from us. In the event your orders require exact quantities we encourage you to purchase extra pieces.

Vector Files (.ai,.eps)

Convert all text to outlines(curves). Raster images placed within vector art must be 300 dpi and sized to print size. Convert all colors in your artwork to spot colors. Label each swatch with the corresponding Pantone color or chose one from the pantone coated color book.

Raster Files (.psd,.jpeg,.png,.gif, .tif )

Files must be 300 dpi and sized to 100% of the actual imprint size or larger.A file that is 72 dpi can not be changed to 300 dpi to meet requirements.All raster images must be submitted in their original color space (RGB or CMYK). Please do not convert from one to the other. RGB color space is recommended for full process orders.

Acrobat Files (.pdf)

PDF files must retain full editing capabilities as the program they were created in. PDF files must meet all guidelines listed for raster and vector images.

Full Color Simulated Process Designs

We are extremely skilled when it comes to Full Color/Simulated Process designs.

This is a print method that by different tones and gradients we are able to create photo realistic images on your garments.

Most screen printing companies don’t offer this service and the ones who do usually have high minimums and expensive set up charges.  You will never incur a set up charge when you work with Scrappy Apparel Company.

We require 100% vector artwork to achieve maximum results.

Minimum: 100 pieces per design.

Water Based Inks

Using water based ink is definitely more environmentally friendly and has a no ink feel.

After a run of prints, screens can be cleaned with just water, and it can go down the drain, being no more harmful than mild household cleaning products.

Water based inks are simply not toxic, do not contain lead or any heavy metals, nor do they contain any ozone-depleting chemicals (CFC’s, HCFC’s, etc) or volatile solvents.

Water based inks go hand in hand with organic apparel; that is why we offer FREE water based ink when you purchase any of our organic products.

Stretched T-Shirt With Discharge Print

Discharge is a specialty ink used in screen printing to achieve a no ink feel. It results in a very soft hand and shows the garments natural fiber instead of laying a thick layer of plastisol ink on top of the garment.

By itself, discharge ink removes the dye of the cotton fiber when it hits a certain temperature.  Discharge works with a variety of different brands and styles of shirts or other garments, with some styles and colors having stronger results than others.

Scrappy Apparel Company specializes in discharge screen printing and can print over seems, zippers, and collars with ease.

Discharge printing is only offered on 100% cotton garments.  All other blends will be printed with our standard soft hand plastisol inks.

Hybrid Screen Print Close Up

Take your merchandise to the next level while keeping prices affordable with our hybrid screen print. Scrappy Apparel Company separates itself from the pack by printing a discharge underbase aside from your traditional white plastisol underbase.

Our method will make your design feel super soft on the garment and allow the colors to remain vibrant even after multiple wash cycles.

Hybrid Screen Printing is only offered on 100% cotton garments. Any garments that are not 100% cotton will be printed with soft hand plastisol ink.

Garments decorated with a dye sublimation transfer cannot be removed like images on shirts decorated with screen printing. Again, this is not ink that sits on top of the fabric; it is a dye that penetrates the fiber of the fabric. This is why all of our dye sublimated team uniforms are guaranteed to never fade, crack or peel.

Samples are $150.  If you approve our work and proceed with your order, we will deduct $150 from your total.

Pricing of contract screen printing varies widely, depending on many factors. Some online vendors have graphic tools available that allow customers to create a design on the website itself, or upload artwork in graphic files. Each custom screen printing company has its own protocols as to how materials should be submitted. When considering a quote, be careful not to overlook fine points. For example, if your design will be printed to a tee shirt, will it be printed on the back, front, or on both sides? Will your artwork need to be scaled up or down? Is the right number of colors included in the quote? Missing a detail can result in a run of items that are not what you envisioned, so be sure to double-check an order before placing it.
Contract screen printing is a great way to personalize items and promote products, companies or brand awareness. If you consider how many people wear shirts, hats or jackets that bear words or logos, you can see why contract screen printing is so valuable!

Screen Printed Neck Tags: Minimum of 75 pieces per order
This is a great alternative to a woven label when branding your merchandise. We will remove the original tag and screen print your logo, shirt size, washing instructions, or anything else you would like to add. We recommend choosing garments with tear away tags to simplify the process and save on cost.

Sewn In Labels: Minimum of 75 pieces per order
Really up the game by adding a sewn tag to the sleeve, neckline, or bottom of the shirt. We provide the service of sewing the tags on but not manufacturing them. We can recommend a company for manufacturing if necessary.

Hang Tags:
Tell your customers more about your brand by adding a hang tag to your merchandise. We can provide you with the hang tag, but you must order a minimum of 100 at a time. Hang tags may be required by your retailer.

Poly Bagging:
We neatly fold your shirts individually and insert them into poly bags. Sticker are also applied to the poly bag so merchandise does not slide out while being delivered. Poly bagging may be required by your retailers.

Machine embroidery, arising in the early stages of the Industrial Revolution and what we use at Scrappy Apparel Company, mimics hand embroidery, especially in the use of chain stitches, but the “satin stitch” and hemming stitches of machine work rely on the use of multiple threads and resemble hand work in their appearance, not their construction.

Much contemporary embroidery is stitched with a computerized embroidery machine using patterns “digitized” with embroidery software. In machine embroidery, different types of “fills” add texture and design to the finished work. Machine embroidery is used to add logos and monograms to business shirts or jackets, gifts, and team apparel as well as to decorate household linens, draperies, and decorator fabrics that mimic the elaborate hand embroidery of the past.

Oversize Screen Printing

Jumbo Screen Printing
Our Jumbo Screen Prints are 20″ X 24, ″ superior to most screen printers who can only offer only 17” X 19”. Since these designs take up such a large area on the garment we use straight discharge and/or water based inks so you can’t feel the ink. Print capacity depends on the size of the garment.

Minimum:  75 Pieces Per Design

Today, screen printing is accomplished by making a screen, for each color that needs to be printed. For example, if you are printing a red and blue design on a white t-shirt two screens would need to be made. Once the screens are made they must be lined up, or what the industry calls registered, and test printed to ensure all of the colors line up correctly. Inks are then pushed through the screens one color at a time onto the apparel. This can be done manually or by a machine. Finally, each piece is run through a large dryer to cure the inks.
